FA board members back Fabio Capello

England did not make it to the quarterfinals at the WK world cup 2010 in South Africa. The question after such an unexpected failure is: Will the coach of the current team, Fabio Capello keep his job? Capello was blamed for England’s failure against Germany (4-1). The Football Association expects that Capello will keep his job. Gartside and BBC News are supporting the FA. Their conclusion is that England has the best man for the job. The final decision will be made by Club England chairman Sir David Richards and director Adrian Bevington. The meeting will take place on July 15.

My reaction:
I have seen the match against Germany. Well, goodbye to England. Who would have thought that England did not make it to the quarterfinals? At least I did not. I have to say that they played under their level. Maybe this happened because they just finished the big competitions in their home country, like the Champion’s League. I think it is ridiculous that the coach always gets the blame. I understand that ‘’somebody’’ needs to be the victim, but the mistake not always lies by the coach of the team. Let us give the man a second chance!

Women freeze eggs to wait for 'Mr Right'

Modern technologies promise to help women preserve their fertility. In their late 30s, women are freezing eggs because they are still hunting for "Mr Right". There has been a research at a Belgian clinic where women wanted to freeze their eggs because they consider a fertility treatment. These women are having difficulties with finding a partner. Next to that, women are doing this because of an insurance policy against infertility. Another research came with some students that would also think about this procedure before motherhood. The chance of success is better with younger eggs, yet most women recently choosing the procedure in their late 30s and prefer for egg freezing as a ''last solution''.

My reaction:
Oh dear, what is going on in this World. I think that the title itself is hilarious enough! Now, in 2010 we are able to freeze or eggs for the safety of our fertility? Crazy, isn’t it? I agree that it can be a solution for some women among us, but still why do we all need these technical things? Why not keeping it the natural way? What is wrong with that? I think that is much healthier than the way this article says. And yes, infertility is a very big deal, but nature made his choice. I do not believe in God, but won’t all those technical things only make it worse?

Prince Charles's private income increases by 4%

Last year, the income of Prince Charles rose with 4% but on the other hand, his legal charges were almost halved. The reason for all of this is that many overseas travel of the Prince were paid by the prince's hosts, Sir Michael, a principal private secretary added. About the overseas trips, he said: ''It depends where the government wants them to go.'' Sir Michael admitted the economic failure had affected the way the prince's household had been run. He said that this is ''living in the real world’’! The people of Britain do not care much about this happening.

My reaction:
As if, I am interested in the income of Prince Charles and his ''charming'' wife. Not at all do I care about that! Those people have enough money to spend. We should care about the economic crisis and not about some prince's rising income. Why do these things always make it through the front-page of a paper? I mean, talk about things that matter to the rural inhabitants of Britain, like their incomes! I think and I hope that many people are thinking the same way as I do!

No foetal pain before 24 weeks

UK doctors are saying there is no evidence, which shows that foetuses feel pain in the womb before 24 weeks, so there is no reason to change the abortion limit. According to the RCOG (Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists), foetuses are undeveloped and numb. They say the brains are not yet complete and the surrounding of the uterus creates a state of sleep, like unconsciousness. Anti abortion, campaigners are against this statement. This difference of opinion started in the debate about the recent time limit for abortion.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/10403496.stm

My reaction:
Whether it happens in the Netherlands or in Great Britain, abortion is and will always be a big deal. I think that if you decide to have an abortion in week 24 of your pregnancy you are insane. If you already knew that you did not wanted this baby, then why wouldn't you do it sooner. If this really is bad for the foetus, I think that they definitely should change the limit! I still have my doubts about the whole abortion thing that is going on here and I think that will last forever.

IVF babies aborted as mothers lose in love (SPEAKER'S CORNER)

Many young women who recently had an IVF treatment are now asking for an abortion because they regret the fact that they are about to have a child. Some of these women were forced by their husband because they wanted to start a big family. The HFEA said that these women cannot be surprised by their pregnancy because you cannot have an IVF by accident.
In some opinions people say that IVF should have never been invented, it is just one more complication in the mire of human relationships. Next to that, abortion is a procedure with significant medical risks and no medical benefits. Solution adopt a child!

http://women.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/women/article7144878.ece

My reaction:
I think this is ridiculous. IVF is not some treatment that you can do in ‘’just a minute’’. It suspects much more than that. The women who were forced by their husband should stand up for themselves and they should say NO when they want to say NO. Before an IVF treatment takes place, they must think about if they really want to do such a treatment (for real). If there is any doubt, as a doctor, you should reject the fact that a woman wants this treatment from you. I definitely understand that the women are in a difficult position here.

The taxidriver who killed 12 people was a thief who could have been refused a firearms licence

Derrick Bird was a convicted thief. Police could have turn down the firearms licence he had. He used his legally held guns to murder 12 people and wound 11 in Cumbria on Wednesday before his suicide. In the past Bird had a 12-month suspended jail verdict because of a theft in 1990. This theft led to his termination of employment. Unfortunately, this did not stop him from having a shotgun licence since 1995. Cambria Police last visited Bird in 2007 when he was getting another licence for a .22 gun. The same rifle and shotgun were used in the massacre, last Wednesday.

My reaction:
I read the article about these terrible murders in a newspaper in Holland. Immediately I found this man sick. How could you do something like this? Shoot at innocent people that are just walking on the street. Those people are insane. The thing is that nobody thought that this particular man could do such a thing. He was ‘’as easy going as an old shoe’’. They say he was kind to his neighbours and always wanted to help anyone. Who would have expected that this same man killed and wound all these innocent people? This kind of stories makes me anxious.
